                    <description>Are you a Communications Manager with NHS backgorund seeking a new and exciting opportunity!

A nine month contract has arisen for such a candidate to work for a reputable NHS organisation. 

This role will be responsible for implementing a calendar of pro-active media stories,working with the Head of Communications on developing strong lines for negative issues and generating a proactive public profile for the organisation. This position will also have a strong stakeholder and internal communications function.
 
Key responsibilities include;

-Working with the Head of Press &amp;amp; Communications to plan annual strategic communications and proactive media relations activity for the Trust.

-To be part of the press office service, manage and answer incoming media enquiries. 

-To provide swift responses and rapid rebuttal of inaccurate reporting and sustain positive media coverage. 

-To organise media interviews and press conferences.

-To be available to provide crisis communications support, including membership on the out-of-hours rota.   

-To take the lead for maintaining the content of the hospital Internet and Intranet as well as the Web section on the nhs.uk site.  Act as editor of content and sub material provided ensuring suitability for publishing in a Web environment.  

-To lead on the provision of regular, timely and appropriate staff communications for the needs of different internal audiences, supported by the Head of Communications.  

- To take the lead for event management including organising ministerial and VIP visits, openings, launch of new services etc
