One of Badenoch & Clark's highest regarded clients has requested we recruit them a candidate to cover a maternity leave from mid-late Oct for a period of six months, as a TENANCY SUPPORT WORKER.

We are looking for experienced Housing professionals with a proven track record and experience of dealing directly with the public and demonstrating a good level of customer care. Candidates must have knowledge of housing legislation, be computer literate and have a valid UK driving licence. As part of a busy team, often you will need to work unsupervised and be comfortable dealing with vulnerable young people in their own home environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience in a housing advice or related environment, with a post graduate qualification in housing, and in a perfect world, be au fait with arrears and allocations. Providing housing support and tenancy related advice to 16-25 year old clients, this project is responsible for supporting young people in seeking, obtaining and retaining accommodation.

Assessing cases, making recommendations in relation to current policy and representing said young people (advocating) with other agencies, such as GPs and health professionals, police and social services. Helping candidates secure and maintain their own tenancy, and building a trusting relationship with service users is very much a key part of this role.

You will also be required to assist the emergency accommodation team as and when young people, often in vulnerable situations, present themselves as homeless. You will be targeted on keeping potential rent issues to a minimum and giving accurate, up-to-date housing and benefit advice.

Although predominantly office based this role will involve some visits and hard work off site and candidate must be willing to travel. If you wish to work with one of Scotland's leading Homeless organisations please apply immediately.
