- Direct responsibility for a team of Quality Team members and Quality Team Leaders
- To provide leadership, motivation and organisation to a team of employees, including advice on work related issues, whilst ensuring performance indicators and Client specific Service Level Agreements are achieved.
- Technical or specialist knowledge in their team's area of work

Duties and Responsibilities

- The Quality Leader's main responsibility is to motivate and organise a group of Back Office Team Leaders  including cross team communication to ensure that performance indicators are achieved.
- Monitoring of resources and budget management
- Regular liaising with client including formal client meetings and informal 'day-to-day' contact
- Regular monitoring of performance and the ability to formulate proactive approaches to issues that may arise.
- Adherence to Back Office Rules and Targets
- Help meet Back Office Service Level Agreements by ensuring that all team members adhere to allocated shifts and breaks.
- Monitoring of lateness and illness taking appropriate action to resolve any issues.
- Monitoring of the back office workflow queue to ensure that team members are using their time effectively.
- Observe Data Protection Act and Office Confidentiality at all times.
- Assist team members to carry out manual interventions and follow established workarounds for issues that arise during application processing.
- To ensure that all members of the Operations Team follow established procedures.
- The Quality Leader will have responsibility for a group of Team Leaders dealing with one or more of the following:
- Challenges
- Complaints relating to service and / or policy
- Payment issues such as banking errors, BACS returns, BACS rejections etc.
- Re-assessments of Payments
- General correspondence

Scheme Knowledge

- Provide team members with acceptable alternatives when customers are unable to provide the requested proof documents and additional clarification is required.
- Recognise reasons for return of the application and the best way to resolve the issue
- Ensure that information given is the latest version
o Review all email and hard copy updates provided asking questions when there is a lack of understanding of the issues raised
- Know when to escalate the query and the correct procedure, including possible child protection issues

Other Responsibilities

- Dealing with and reallocating escalated work items dealing with scheme enquiries in the appropriate manner, including escalation to LSC surgeries, where necessary 
- Organisation of team meetings and the provision of an agenda and items for discussion.
- Participation in training and development
- Assistance with the induction and development of new team members where appropriate
- Proactive approach to the development and training of members of the team
- Ad hoc duties
