Senior Practitioner - Looked After Children

A Senior Practitioner is required to join a Looked After Children team in the West Midlands. Senior Practitioner - Children in Need

A Senior Practitioner is required to join a Children in Need team in the West Midlands. Working within the Children in Need team, this Senior Practitioner will have the following responsibilities: - To act as a source of consultation for colleagues within the team and where appropriate the Department by virtue of being an experienced and reliable Senior Practitioner. - To assist in and contribute to the development of the practice standards in the Department as required and where relevant, which may include some training responsibilities. - To undertake responsibility for some areas of work in the day to day running of the team and supervision of team members. - To maintain a current and active interest and knowledge in such legislation and policy changes, research findings and practice developments, from a wide field, as are relevant to the post holder's client's group responsibilities. Qualified Social Worker - Fostering

A Qualified Social Worker is required to join a Fostering and Adoption team in the West Midlands. Working within the Fostering and Adoption team, this Qualified Social Worker will have the following responsibilities: - Prepare draft advertisements for fostering and adoption purposes and generally assist with recruitment of carers and campaigns. - Co-ordinate efforts to secure adoptive and foster families for named children. - Liaise and advise colleagues as necessary in preparing children and young people for adoptive and foster placements. - Draw up an agreed home finding strategy and record progress for individual children. - Prepare information in respect of court work and attendance at court when necessary. - Follow up work on recommendations made by the fostering/adoption panel. - Provide regular reports and information to the fostering/adoption panel. - Assess capabilities, attitude and suitability of prospective fostering/adoptive parents. - Draw up a personal specification for children to assist in their placement.
